Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Sidewalk Saga, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sidewalk Saga. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. The service

Sidewalk Saga is a location-based mobile adventure experience that may provide generated quests, route guidance, map-based content, optional voice moments, story progression, photo challenges, profile features, digital items, and subscription-based access.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it reasonably up to date.

5. Safety and real-world conduct

Sidewalk Saga is played in real-world environments. You are solely responsible for your safety and your decisions while using the app. Always pay attention to your surroundings, obey laws and property rules, avoid dangerous or restricted areas, and never use the app in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling unsafely, or crossing streets without proper attention.

The app is for entertainment only and is not an emergency, navigation, medical, or public-safety service.

6. User content and submissions

You may be able to submit profile content, photos, text, or other materials. You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant Kanatago a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display that content as needed to operate, improve, and support Sidewalk Saga.

You agree not to submit content that:

• is illegal, abusive, defamatory, or fraudulent;
• violates privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights;
• includes sensitive images of others without appropriate permission;
• contains malware or harmful code; or
• otherwise interferes with the service or other users.

7. AI and generated content

Some Sidewalk Saga features may use automated systems or AI to generate stories, place-based prompts, photo challenge analysis, or voice moments. Generated content may contain mistakes, may not always reflect real-world conditions, and should not be relied on as factual, legal, safety, or emergency guidance.

8. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Sidewalk Saga may offer paid subscriptions and one-time digital purchases. Pricing, billing terms, included features, and availability may change.

• Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Payment is charged through the Apple App Store or Google Play account used to make the purchase.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
• Deleting your Sidewalk Saga account does not automatically cancel a store-managed subscription.
• Refunds are handled according to the applicable App Store or Google Play policies, except where otherwise required by law.
• Digital items, entitlements, and perks may be non-transferable and may have no cash value.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
• interfere with or disrupt the integrity, security, or operation of the service;
• attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data;
• exploit bugs, manipulate purchases, or evade feature limits; or
• use the app in a way that violates third-party rights or applicable law.

10. Intellectual property

Sidewalk Saga, including its software, visual design, branding, text, graphics, and service content, is owned by Kanatago or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the app under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Sidewalk Saga if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for the service or others, or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using the app at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sidewalk Saga is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy, or error-free operation.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kanatago and its affiliates, service providers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising from or related to Sidewalk Saga. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us through the service in the 12 months before the claim arose or fifty U.S. dollars (USD 50).

14. Governing law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence remain unaffected where they legally apply.

15. App Store terms

If you downloaded the app through Apple App Store or Google Play, you also acknowledge that those platform providers are not responsible for the service itself, except as required under their applicable platform terms.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of Sidewalk Saga after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
